SINOPUREN Laminator Review: 3-in-1 Unboxing and Test

Aidan Holt3 min read

Is the SINOPUREN laminator worth it? It works. In this SINOPUREN laminator review, the SINOPUREN 3-in-1 Thermal Laminator laminated cleanly, the trimmer cut perfectly with one hand, and it comes with pouches in the box. The catch: it feels cheaper than a $20 laminator from Staples, and I paid about $60 for it.

I bought this one myself. The full video is above.

What is the SINOPUREN laminator?

A personal desktop thermal laminator that's actually a 3-in-1. It has a paper trimmer built into the top, a hole punch, and a corner rounder. It had tons of reviews on Amazon, which is why I picked it.

Per SINOPUREN's product page, it's a 9-inch machine with a 3 minute warm-up and a laminating speed of 300 mm per minute.

What's in the box

  • The laminator, with the trimmer on top
  • Laminating pouches, about 10 of them
  • A corner rounder
  • Some small hooks, probably for things after you hole punch them
  • Instructions

The pouches were a nice surprise. Most laminators don't include them, and I forgot to buy any. The cord is decently long, about 5 feet.

There's also a button labelled ABS. I had no idea what it did when I filmed. SINOPUREN's product page says the ABS lever is designed to prevent paper jams.

What I liked

It tells you when it's ready. There's a ready indicator. My sister's Staples laminator doesn't have one, so you're guessing. This one took around 3 minutes to fully heat up, which matches the warm-up time on SINOPUREN's page.

The trimmer. I used one hand, pushed down and sliced, and it came out as a perfect cut. Smooth.

Pouches included. If you're like me and forgot to buy them, you can start right away.

It laminates fine. I ran a piece through and got a nice bookmark out of it.

What I didn't like

It feels cheap. The hole punch especially. My sister has one from Staples that was about $20, and this feels pretty cheap compared to it. This one was $60 when I bought it. You can't judge a book by its cover, and it did work, but for that money I expected it to feel more solid.

Tips if you buy one

  • Wait for the ready light before you feed anything in.
  • Line the item up straight going in.
  • Guide it out from the other side so it comes out straight. The heat affects it a lot, so don't let it curl on the way out.

What I didn't test: thicker pouches, long batches, and how it holds up over months. This was a first use on camera.

Who should buy the SINOPUREN laminator?

  • Home offices and students who laminate now and then
  • Anyone who wants a trimmer and corner rounder in the same box
  • People who'd rather not buy pouches separately to start

If build quality matters more to you than the extras, know that my sister's $20 Staples laminator felt sturdier.

SINOPUREN laminator review verdict: is it worth it?

The SINOPUREN laminator does the job. The ready light, the included pouches and the smooth trimmer are real pluses. It just feels cheap for what I paid, and the hole punch is the weakest part. If you want the 3-in-1 extras, it's worth a look. Check the current price before you buy.

Does the SINOPUREN laminator come with pouches? Yes. Mine came with about 10 laminating pouches, plus a corner rounder.

What does the ABS button on the SINOPUREN laminator do? I didn't know when I filmed. SINOPUREN's product page says the ABS lever is designed to prevent paper jams.

Is the SINOPUREN laminator well built? It works, but it felt cheaper than a $20 Staples laminator, especially the hole punch.
